OrientationBear Beginnings 2024

International Transfer & Exchange Students

Transfer & Exchange Welcome is Tuesday, August 20 through Saturday, August 24.

Transfer & Exchange move-in is Tuesday, August 20 for students living in Residential Life housing.

Move-In Day for international transfer and exchange students will take place on Tuesday, August 20 between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM at the Office of Residential Life on the South 40. The Office for International Student Engagement (OISE) will offer a free shuttle from St. Louis-Lambert International Airport to campus on August 20 only between the hours of 7:30 AM and 4:30 PM.

Transfer & Exchange International Orientation

International TX Orientation will be held in-person on Wednesday, August 21.

International students will meet with staff from the Office for International Student Engagement (OISE) and the Office for International Students and Scholars (OISS), learn how to navigate WashU campus, set up bank accounts, shop for needed items, and participate in various activities.

Religious Observances

The Office of Religious, Spiritual, and Ethical Life (ORSEL) offers connections with a wide variety of religious organizations on campus and in the St. Louis area. Please reach out to ORSEL to get connected with campus ministry groups and St. Louis organizations.

It is our goal that students will be able to fully observe their faith, practices, and traditions without missing important information. Students should reach out to their WUSA if they plan on missing an orientation event for a religious observance to ensure the student has access to any information they may miss.

Accommodation Statement

We strive to host inclusive, accessible events. If you have a disability and require accommodations (such as assistive listening device, captioning, large print, reserved front row seat, advanced copy of slides to be projected, etc.) in order to fully participate in Transfer and Exchange Welcome, please list them in your TX Welcome registration form. The form is due July 1, 2024. After we receive your submission, a member of Student Transitions & Family Programs will contact you for more information. Requests should be made as soon as possible, but at least two weeks prior to your arrival on campus. For any other questions about accessibility during Transfer & Exchange Welcome, please contact Student Transitions & Family Programs.
