2022 WUSA Applications are now open.

Applications are due Tuesday, May 3rd at Noon CST.

Priority will be given to students who apply by Wednesday, April 27th at noon.

Thinking of Applying?

Each year, a group of enthusiastic, responsible, and aware undergraduate students are selected to help guide incoming students through the transition from high school to college.  WUSAs and TX Student Mentors play a key role in making the first-year experience a rewarding, fun, and successful welcome to the WashU community.

As you make your decision to apply, please refer to the following steps.

1. Talk to support systems about the position and time requirements

We encourage you to talk to support systems or family members regarding your decision to apply, as we know that there are many factors to consider. If you have any questions about the role, please reach out to your current WUSA.

2. Review the position descriptions and important dates

We provide the position description and important dates ahead of time so you can fully understand the commitment required for the position. Please review the documents to ensure that you have no conflicts. If there is an anticipated conflict, please reach out to Renaldo Gacad and Dacoda Scarlett.

3. What we are looking for in an applicant

All WUSAs and TX Student Mentors must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher and must be an undergraduate at WashU through May of 2023.

Transfer & Exchange Student Mentors must have transferred to WashU from another institution or must have studied abroad or are currently studying abroad as an international student.

We also expect WUSAs to exhibit leadership potential and a strong commitment to Student Transitions & Family Programs’ missions.

All applicants are also expected to exemplify the following core attributes:

Application Process

Our selection process includes two components:

  1. A written application
  2. An individual interview
